Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries with Ceremonial Cacao
This sweet recipe takes only a few ingredients, and barely any time. There is something about strawberries and melted chocolate that just works, especially when the chocolate is made with real ceremonial cacao.
Ingredients
- 4 tbsp Soma Cacao
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- Fresh strawberries
Method
1. Add the cacao and coconut oil to a heatproof bowl or mug and melt gently.
You can do this in the microwave in 10 to 20 second bursts, stirring each time, until smooth. Or use a double boiler by placing a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water and letting it melt slowly that way.
2. Once melted, stir in the maple syrup until the mixture is glossy and well combined.
3. Dip the strawberries into the chocolate one by one, turning them slightly so they are well coated. You can eat them straight away, which is excellent, or place them on baking paper for a little while if you want the chocolate to set.
A few notes
The beauty of this recipe is that it is unfussy, but it still feels thoughtful. It is perfect for date night, but it is also perfect if your idea of romance is making something delicious for yourself and eating it in peace.
You could serve them as they are, or go a little further and scatter over chopped pistachios, shredded coconut, or a tiny pinch of sea salt before the chocolate sets.
Why we love it
We love recipes like this because they do not ask much of you, but they give a lot back. They turn ordinary ingredients into something that feels memorable. They invite you to slow down just enough to enjoy what you are doing.
And, of course, they are a very good excuse to eat strawberries covered in melted cacao.
